2013 Resolutions

Random thought:

You will probably never hear me say, "Good Morning!" Why is this? Well, it is because I feel incredibly cheesy saying it, to me it is almost cliche. I don't know why I have an issue with this, but I do. People say it all the time and when I get that cheerful greeting I freeze and instead say, "Hi! How are ya!?" Can't do it.... If you do somehow get it out of me, it comes out as a half hearted, under the breath mumble, "Mornin.." Like an under the weather hillbilly redneck.

Same goes for "Happy New Year!" So with that being said, just know that I recognize that it is a new year. Hope it goes well for you...

Do you remember last year?

I would like to report on how I did. I had 4 goals.

#1 Cafe Rio-Go Cold Turkey

This was not easy. But I would like to declare a victory for me. Out of 365 in 2012 I only went 3 times. Actually it was more like 2.5 times. How is that possible? Let me explain:

1 Failure: Had a migraine and totally spewed breakfast everywhere. Feeling quite pathetic and hungry hours later I craved some tortilla soup. The best tortilla soup is from Rio....so I gave i. This was around May. I do not feel as if I could really say I failed when all I got was brothy soup. But whatever.
2nd Failure: Stupid person from work had his last day at the office. For his last meal he wanted all of us to go to Cafe Rio. I had to go. It was for work. This was around August? Not my fault. The burrito was amazing! But whatever.
3rd Failure: Totally my fault. Gave in and went with Shanna. I failed before...so why not just give up. This was around September? It was delightful and I had no guilt

So out of 365 days I suceeded 362 days. Which is a percentage of .991 percent! 99% is good enough for me!

Will I have this as my 2013 resolution? Nope. Because I don't need to. It isn't an addiction anymore. It is not my crack or meth and I have weeded it out of my life. woohooo for me!

#2 Read More Books- Including the Book of Mormon

I did a fair amount of reading. I could have done better though. Anth and I did start reading the Book of Mormon again though. I am happy to announce that we are in the book of Mosiah. Anth wakes me up every morning around 7:30 and we read a chapter or two before he leaves for work. It is a nice way to start the day and I enjoy the time with Anth. We will continue reading together and I have a hefty goal of reading 50 books this year. See my 2013 reading lists for the books I am reading. Currently I am reading, "The Hobbit" and "Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet". Both excellent books.

#3 Run
I suck. Truly. I did really well in the late winter/early spring. But then the summer came and it got really hot and I lost motivation. Then the fall came and we were consumed with house stuff and then the holidays came. I suck. I say it again. I failed. But I just bought me a new work out getup and I look forward to rockin it soon. Resolution this year? Yes.... I would love to be able to run a 5k. that sounds pathetic but I have gained a lot of weight and run 3.5 miles will take a lot of work to get me there.

#4 Eat Healthy
Umm....FAIL! I have been a fatty magee for the last couple of months. As soon as we move in and get settled things are going to change. Again...

Basically I am using last years (besides Cafe Rio) resolutions. I know there are some people that think making goals at the beginning of the year is stupid but I believe it is beneficially to look within yourself and see what you could improve upon. I wish us all the best of luck.

What are your resolutions? How did you do last year? Do you have any suggestions for me? Any book recommendations?

Good for you! I honestly can't remember when my last resolution was...probably because I'm bad at keeping them. I guess you should say.mine are to eat healthier and run. So far I'm doing real good I decided to bake cookies and eat them instead of going to the gym that's less than a minute away from us.

I can't believe you gave up Cafe Rio. That is a task my friend, bravo. And 50 books is a lot of reading, go you! I may have to put Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet on my list too. :) Rock on lady
