7. Seven.1111+111

I have been away for awhile. I have had a couple of things I have been dealing with that has kept me from blogging. Job hunting has been in the works. I have had a couple of interviews and I am hoping to have a new job by the end of the week. It is time to move on for sure. I also have had a ton of migraines lately which has kept me from doing a lot of things. I haven't done much exercising, cooking, cleaning, etc. etc. I have made it to the doctor and I have a migraine specialist appointment set up for the beginning of May. I cannot wait to get that over and done with. I want a magical pill to get them out of my life. I think a lot of my headache problems have been due to stress.

Needless to say I have been looking forward to getting away from work. I wanted to not think about jobs, and all the other home life stuff we have been dealing with. My parents were able to hook us up with one of their timeshares in Park City. I am so grateful for them! It was exactly what we needed.

Friday we went to dinner and that was all we were able to accomplish since we got there so late. We went to a pretty decent Mexican restaurant.

Saturday we made it to the outlets. We wandered around for about 3 hours. Usually Anthony has to put a cap on my spending because I am normally out of control. I am in desperate need of new work clothes. To my surprise I didn't find anything I liked! BLASPHEMY. I did however end up with a $120 Fossil purse for only $40. It is beautiful. Anth got some lucky jeans and some new shoes. We then hit up the pool and called it a day.

Sunday rolled around and we decided we should go for a hike. We did a 6.5 mile hike around Jordanelle Lake. It was hot! There was no shade! There were a lot of inclines! I wanted to make it 7 miles....ya know...for our 7th anniversary, but that didn't happen. Thank goodness for a pretty constant breeze and lots of planning on Anths part. He brought lots of water and treats for me (: We had a good time.

After our hike I was 100% burned and exhausted. We got home and cooled off in the pool for a little bit. We made it over to a pizzeria that totally sucked. We went back to our room and complained about our burns for the remainder of the night. We probably fell asleep around 9. We were exhausted.

Today we got the room cleaned up and walked main and looked at some shops. I got me a little gift for myself and Anth got his own and then we headed home. Have you seen the table convo cards? I have wanted the book club version for awhile now. They are kind of pricey though. While at the shops today I saw them and thought about the lack of items I picked up at the outlets so I purchased it, guilt free. They will be super useful for book club meetings! Anthony got him a survival book. We both are total geeks. Below is a photo of my cards and purse. So cute!

It was a really great weekend. Anth gave me a kiss on the forehead at some point and told me Happy Anniversary and said, "This has been quite the 7 years." I knew exactly what he meant. It has been hard. We have struggled, probably more than most couples. We don't believe in fairy tales, we believe in hard work. I am so grateful that we both haven't walked out on each other. There have been times, heaven knows, but we are stronger than ever and we are where I wish we would have been years ago. I know that whatever we come across we will be able to stand together and get through it. He is pretty great and I know he feels the same way about me.

I look forward to the years to come.....

Congrats on 7 years! Trust me - you are not alone in having a rough 1st seven years of marriage, and anyone that says their's was easy is absolutely lying (or someone in the marriage has no spine)! Anyway, it's true. It doesn't necessarily magically all go away and become easy, but it's a lot easier than it was. Congrats again, and may the next seven years be doubly rewarding!!!

Congratulations! What a fun getaway you had! I have a set of those conversation cards, the family set I think. We use them at dinnertime sometimes and the kids LOVE them. Pretty fun. I'll have to check out the bookclub ones sometime!

Congrats to seven years! Marriage is hard, despite what people show on their "happy" blogs. It looks like you really needed this outing to get the stress off. Glad to see your blog post!

I'm sorry things have been rough. Let me know if you need a listening ear or something.

The trip looks like it was great. Good buys too! I've actually never heard of the conversation cards you're referring to. I know I've heard of the thought of using something like that. My interest is definitely piqued. Good luck with the job stuff and migraines!
