Yesterday Anth and I had a fabulous day. FAB.U.LOUS!
After returning home from cleaning the church around 10:30 we packed up some lunch and snacks and headed over to his Dads house. We loaded up their motor home and headed up to Mirror Lake. I love it there! It is an almost 2 hour drive but it is totally worth it. Anth, his Dad and our brother in law (John), wanted to fish. We lugged our chairs, magazines, and fishing gear to the opposite side of the lake. Debbie, Erin and I cheered our men on as they took their first cast out into the lake. This cheering lasted for a good 13-17 minutes. It was freezing! We eventually grabbed our chairs, hugged our men, and ventured back to the comforts of the warm motor home.
I know a lot of people think fishing is completely boring but I absolutely enjoy every minute of it. I have a million memories of my Dad and I on several lakes catching all sorts of fish growing up. I love the calmness. I love that my Dad has passed that love of fishing to Anth as well. It is fun to watch him.
About 3-4 hours later the boys called it quits. They each caught a couple little fish. I wish I had been macho and stayed to take pictures but oh well.....comfort won.
On our way home we stopped at Provo River Falls which is right off the road. I had no idea it was there. It was beautiful!
There are about 4 different falls and we wondered around for a good 30 minutes. I am so grateful that we have such a good relationship with his Dad and Step Mom. They are so good to each other and we have learned so much from them. They are such wonderful parents and I hope they know how much we appreciate them.
Before heading home we stopped by his Dads to watch the Utes vs BYU. After Utes won (Sorry Cougs), we went to bed happy and tired. It was a perfect day.
