Bedtime Conversations

Anthony doesn't go to bed before 10:30. It is kind of a rule in the house (his own made up rule). Sometimes I find this unappealing as I get tired pretty much after 9:00. We are both stubborn. I don't want to fall asleep on the couch waiting for 10:30 to come around because when I wake up to go to bed then I am wide awake. Anthony on the other hand does not want to go to bed early and lay there while he listens to me snore breath angelically. It gets old going to bed alone.....

I might have been feelings a little emotional last night. This was the conversation that enfolded. Picture me in the dark under the covers with my phone and lower lip in a sulk pose. Anthony is downstairs with the remote.

This is what followed:
I was not impressed, at all.

I then got emotional:
Then he dared to send this:
It was silent in the bedroom as I contemplated the events that had unfolded. He will for sure show up any second..... I then played some words with friends.....checked the facebook feed.......tossed and turned....Where is he?!?! I then decided one more text would suffice.....
I then heard foot steps up the stairs.

6 years and 11 months.......still going strong (:

I'm glad I'm not the only one who has conversations like that. Not necessarily about going to bed, in fact I am usually up later than Phil, but just about other stuff. I like to remind myself that sometimes I need to translate what I say into husbandese. Being subtle is not always best.

This happens to me ALL. THE. TIME. Only I don't get footsteps up the stairs. You guys are too funny! I love the seinfield quote, too. that made my day.
