{I don't have a witty title name}

Thanksgiving is over. I am so sad about this. Thanksgiving is my favorite time of year. Not only do you get the harvest colors but it isn't freezing outside. I love thanksgiving because it is a holiday where you feel blessed for the things that you have. Family, food and blessings are the focal point and I love that there isn't the anxiety of gifts involved with this holiday. I love Christmas, but it has turned into a stress for me, therefore Thanksgiving has been my comfort holiday.

This year we were at my parents house for Thanksgiving. The day consisted of food prep, stuffing our faces, games (I bought "The Last Word" Its a fun game....cuz I won) , dessert and my favorite part.....a new Thanksgiving tradition.

I saw this tradition on a blog a year or two ago. I wish I had the link to it but I never saved it. Purchase a white or cream colored table cloth and have everyone write or draw what they are grateful for. Make sure everyone puts the date next to their blessing. Before the following year, hand stitch over the blessing. Each year add to the tablecloth.

It was so fun to go around to each person and listen to them explain what they are grateful for. To see the tablecloth covered with blessings over the years will be an awesome site. I am so excited that I remembered to do this. I can't wait to get started on the stitching. As soon as I finish I will take some pictures. I should have shared this before Thanksgiving but it would work just as well for Christmas as well.

Moving on...........

Yesterday (Black Friday), I didn't fight the crowds. The last year or two I have skipped out mostly because I end up getting crap that I didn't intend on getting. Instead I got up at 7:30 and hit up a couple of stores after the crowds died down. I was able to get 2 1/2 people done and I am about 3 people away from being completely finished. I told myself I would get done before or as close to December 1st so I can focus on the real meaning of Christmas. Also, with school finishing the first week of January I am going to have a lot of studying to do. The last thing I want to do is to worry about shopping.

Anthony made a purchase yesterday....a rather large purchase. I am still kind of surprised. He was looking in the ads on Thanksgiving and saw these beauties. They were such a great price and our washer and dryer are really old and could crap out any day. He decided that it would be a good idea to buy them now before they died and before the prices hike up. He had pretty much decided within 30 minutes which is really odd for him. Normally he will mull things over for days and research, research, research until he knows everything about the product. They can hold up to 31 towels! I cannot wait to get these babies home! Hopefully they get delivered soon. Now we just need to figure out what to do with our old ones.

After shopping I got the tree up. It is beautiful! I love everything about it. I decided to do a peacock themed tree since I had a lot of the stuff left over from my Halloween costume. I bought some green and blue bulbs yesterday and it turned out a lot better than I had even envisioned.

Today I am going to stay at home. I plan on getting the house completely clean. Anthony is out shooting some guns.......I don't understand the excitement, but I hope he has an enjoyable time because I plan on using him as a maid when he gets back.

This was a long winded post but I am trying to work up some motivation for the chores ahead of me. I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Love you all!

Love your tree & Im jealous of your new washer & dryer. I keep thinking ours are going to die soon but they keep going which I guess is a good thing because Im not wanting to fork out money for new ones any time soon.

Haha I love your tree! I'm also sad about thanksgiving... all my left overs are gone and or gone bad. It's a shame. Also... very jealous about your new machines. I'm still on freaking coin op ones. Lame-sauce!
