Day 1 & 2

Our trip started in the wee hours of the morning.....5:30 to be precise. Within 20 minutes we about got into an accident after construction halted traffic on the freeway, I just about rear ended a car in front of us. I swerved out of the way. It was scary. Not one to dwell on things...we giggled...and then we continued our trip without another incident. At least we got it out of the way early on.

One stop in St. George for breakfast, one creepy trip through the ghetto in Vegas, one stop in the middle of the road in the desert waiting for a long train to pass, lots of snacks, moderate amount of whining the last hour, and finally after 10 hours we arrived to the almost desolate town of Lake Havasu. 10 minutes outside of the town is nothing. It is pure ugly, dead, dry red sand as far as the eye can see. The lake is beautiful though, our room is perfect and we are having a great time!

Yesterday after destroying our room within minutes of arriving we ventured out for dinner and to the store to buy some groceries. After returning we were greeted by 3 very drunk girls, probably no older than 21. They were collapsed on the lawn in their too small bikinis, spread eagle. We both agreed that the view was very unattractive. "This is why I do not drink."

While the rest of the town was out partying me and Shanna got in bed at..........9:00. We were exhausted. By 10 the bar right outside our window was hopping. Luckily the hotel provides earplugs. How Shanna managed to sleep through the party I have no idea, but she did. The party finally ended at 2am and I was then able to get into a deep sleep.

This morning we woke up at 7 and was out the door by 8 in our gym attire. We walked around the lake and strolled on the famous London Bridge.....yes from London. After returning we ventured out to the pool. We got it all to ourselves. Then we returned to the store to find some provisions for the next couple of days. The debate on what beach chairs to buy was the extent of our worries today. Vacation life is the best!

Tomorrow we will take a dip in the lake (:

I had to take a picture of this. My breakfast was delightful!
