Cascade Springs

Saturday we got the chance to drive up American Fork (I think) Canyon with Leonard & Debbie. We don't often get to visit just the two of them, it was such a delight. There is a cute little spot called Cascade Springs about 40 minutes up the canyon. I had never been there before. They spoke so highly of it though. It did not disappoint. Although it was only a short stroll around the little park it was so enjoyably. The weather was perfect and it was BEAUTIFUL! Afterwards we had some yummy burgers at their house and I managed to make it half way through Inception before falling asleep on their floor. I then moved into their front room on their couch. Thanks again Debbie and Leonard for all that you guys do for us! Love you both so much!

Whining Alert: Do not read if you are tired of hearing me whine.......

Since the last post I have had the worst back pain ever! It is beyond frustrating because I am not sure if it is due to me working out so hard or because I took that 3 day break and then continued at the same workout level. I just want to scream! I want to continue to workout and lose weight and work on my jogging but I just physically can't. I can barely lift things and sitting and standing causes pain as well. So basically the only time I am not in pain is when I am sleeping or lying on my stomach. I have not worked out since Friday and the pain has been moving around. It originally was in my lower back and now it is moving up almost into my shoulders. I am hoping that the pain is gone by Friday because Saturday I am leaving for vacation. The last thing I want is to be driving for 10 hours with back pain! Also, I am pretty sure Shanna doesn't want to have to listen to me complain the entire 7 days. Anyways, that has been my life right now. I have been going to bed no later than 9:30 because I am either exhausted or because I am drugged up on muscle relaxers. Its awful. I have been using lots of ice packs and heat packs. If anyone knows of any other remedies let me know.

Again, sorry for the complaining. There just really isn't anything else going on. I have had my bags packed for a couple of days now and I am so excited to be away from work for a week!

Below are some photos from Cascade Springs, thanks to Debbie!

I love Cascade Springs.

I hope your back starts feeling better. Maybe a nice massage would help.

I agree - try a massage. If the pain moves UP then it's typically muscles. If it moves DOWN then it's typically bones (need a chiropractor). At least that's the rule of thumb I've been given. Either way, I would definitely see someone about it because you don't want it getting worse. (Don't you work for a physical therapist, or am I confused? If so, have they offered any help?) Good luck!

Your hike looks wonderful! I hope your back pain goes away soon. NO FUN to be hurting and not be able to do what you want.
