Pitter Patter Temple Square

John & Jolene had a couple of tickets for the First Presidency Christmas Devotional. They invited Anth and I. Mike (Anths younger brother) and a friend attended as well. I have never been to the Christmas devotional before and It was a delight. The talks were lovely and the music was amazing as always.
The talk that really hit home to me was to remember to always be a good receiver. Everyone talks about giving during this time of year but it is equally important to show gratitude to those that have done service to you. It was an unexpected talk and I thoroughly enjoyed it.{How adorable is that picture of John with his binoculars?}
After the devotional we went over to Temple Square. It was so warm outside. Warm meaning like 60 out! We all at some point mentioned how all the years past have been pretty miserable. Either snowing/raining or just plain freezing cold. Not many people had heavy coats or hats and it was so much more enjoyable to not have snot running down your face. We might have spoken too soon though....
Sorry...We aren't great with picture taking in the dark. After some photo shots we went over to the numerous nativity scenes from around the world. THEN...A MASSIVE GUST OF WIND BROUGHT DOWN BUCKETS OF RAIN! How dramatic huh?!?! Well it was! One minute we were looking at these...

And the next we heard people screaming and then the gust of wind came and the rain came and we were RUNNING! We booked it out of temple square...then the hail came.....then my skirt got soaked...then we crossed a river...aka...the street....then we walked 3 blocks. then the hail switched back to rain...buckets of rain...then I realized my underwear was wet....then I felt rain puddling in my boots....then my mittens started dripping....then we finally found the car. We crawled in the car and we all smelled like wet dogs. It was......awesome /:

We got to the inlaws home safely (thanks John). Then we drove home. We walked in the house, peeled off our wet clothes, slipped into cozy pjs and enjoyed some of this..........
It's Peanut Butter Cocoa, and it is delightful. It was a good day.

I love your writing! Next time you come downtown park your car in our condo building. You will only have to run a 1/2 of block in the rain and wind. No problem just give me a call.
