Lyman Christmas

Christmas morning we woke up bright and early. It was still dark outside and we might have looked like we were hit by a truck. A big truck. Not one that was filled with fluffy bunnies and clouds.....but jagged rocks, nails and ....umm..sharks? We showered and swapped stockings. No Tree. No gifts. Just stockings. The impending house is the best Christmas gift ever. So small stockings were more than enough.

We headed off to the Lyman household. As we pulled up the driveway we noticed something. The lights were off and it looked barren. We might have been a little eager for Christmas, and showed up earlier than they thought we would. Soon breakfast began and it was so worth the wait..

Chef Leonard made us some fluffy perfect omelets. As we savored each bite, Anth and I discussed how we never get omelets. Why? Because whenever I try they turn into scrambled eggs. Frustrating. I gave up about 4 years ago. Now I know where to go when we get a hankerin. He even gave me the first one, without mushrooms of course.
After breakfast we modeled in front of the trees. I love them. They were purchased from the Festival of Trees a few years back. Gold. Frankincense. Muir. Awesome right?

Gift time! It was different this year. They knew we would need house stuff so they had us register somewhere. We felt like newly weds as we wandered around Target with our little scanner gun. They got us dark charcoal and teal(ish) fluffly towels. We also got rod and rod hooks and curtain for the shower and a tin mini garbage can for the powder roon. I am in love with the green shower curtain. I can't wait! We also got a foot stool for me because I am "stubby" and our cupboards are tall. Anth got a funny fishing book and new reel to go with his fishing rod that he got from them for his birthday. We got so spoiled. We got Debbie a babycakes decoration station. Sounds fancy huh? She does all sorts of baking and I thought she would enjoy it. Leonard got ammo and a "Sportula"....basically a spatula with his favorite team logo on it. We aren't the best gifters. Sorry Leonard.
Check out this photo. Couple things:
#1 How is Anth so photogenic all the time? It's like he gets up in the middle of night and practices in the mirror while I sleep.....And now to perfect my holiday smile.
#2 I wish I was a couple inches taller. Do you see why? I could have owned that crown. Owned it.
#3 Dontcha love the glare on my glasses? This would be an epic Christmas card photo for next year. Maybe I will just photoshop some hearts over my eyes to cover the glare. Perfect.

Have you noticed a lack of OTHER people in these photos yet? Yeah....it was just the 4 of us for the majority of the time. We all have to rotate with in laws and this year ended up weird. So everyone else visited the Lyman's on Christmas Eve. It was nice to have Debbie and Leonard to ourselves but we really missed seeing everyone open their gifts. Sad. Luckily Grandma Pat stopped by and we saw Shelby for a few minutes before our next. I can't wait to show you what Shelby got me. Show, meaning I have to take a picture but I can't for about 15 days. Yep, it's a house gift. She also got me a barns and noble card. Woohoo.

Anyway, Christmas at the Lymans was a great time. After gifts we sat down and watched the new Ice Age 20....wait, nope #4. It was nice to have that time to just sit and relax.

Debbie and Leonard thank you so much for a wonderful Christmas! We were so spoiled. I can't wait to use all our stuff in the new place. Thanks so much for all you do for us. We love you tons!
