Book Wreath

I am addicted to wreaths right now. I love how diverse and creative you can be with them. They can be used for any holiday or time of year but for some reason I particularly enjoy them in the fall. I stumbled on this wreath a couple of weeks ago and have been looking forward to the time that I could bust out the glue gun and conquer. I wish I could take the credit for this gem, but it came from this blog. I highly recommend anyone with an hour or two to try this.

I have a confession to make. I was sitting in sacrament today and I leaned over to Anthony and said "Can we leave early today? I would give you a reason, but you would say no if you heard the answer." Yes, I left church early for craft hour. I have guilt, but I also have a really great wreath to show for it. I hope this doesn't happen again, but when the craft phone rings, you have to answer it....ya know. This I understand is justification, it will get me nowhere, but for now it is helping to keep the guilt edge off. Thank you to those of you who have not judged me too heavily.

Also, I would like to make a shout out to all the tree huggers who are upset that I destroyed a perfectly good book as a sacrifice for my contentness. This wall really needed something though. And the book will be looked at every day. Normally this would have upset me too. It's a book! A cherished work of art that somebody slaved over for months or years to write. But I didn't burn it, or throw it away. I glued it and displayed it on the wall. All is forgiven now....right?

Both pics are blurry, sorry. I was probably shaking from pure joy :)

I might steal this idea, and make a book wreath for our library/office/craft room. I have a few broken old books that I could upcycle for the project. Thanks for the finished result!

I love love LOVE this wreath! It is truly a work of art. Should the craft phone ring again and you don't know what to do with yourself, you could make me a beautiful book wreath... I would even pay for the book. Just an idea...ya know...putting that out there. Thank you in advance.
